New Opportunities at MTC
We currently have completed our main gym space and now have nearly 50% more space for our regular classes. One of our first events in the new space was with Hugh Suenaga, current solidarity coach for the USA Olympic Wrestling team. Mr. Suenaga instructed 20 MTC students in a Bulgarian Workout Bag routine. The seminar was life changing for many of the students who attended in a physical and a spiritual way. The Bulgarian Bags are amazingly simple self improvement tools and Mr. Suenaga is incredibly inspirational, and we will keep you all posted should there ever be another opportunity like this one.
In January, we will begin using our secondary gym space for new classes. We will keep you posted about new classes. If you would like more information about new classes please see Mrs. Rosbarsky.

New Year's Demo and Upcoming Demo at the Mall
For the sixth year in a row the Missoula Taekwondo Center Demonstration Team performed in Missoula's First Night celebration. First Night Missoula is our home town's version of an international phenomenon of alcohol free celebrations of the arts.
The MTC Demo Team provided a wonderful and well attended performance at Southgate Mall. (pictures) This year's performance had yellow through 4th degree Black Belts and Master Rosbarsky.
New this year were some powerful brick breaking by our female black belts and Davey and Shawn. Abbey preceded Mr. Rosbarsky's apple off the sword with one of her own.
The Demo Team will also be performing as part of the Health Fair at Southgate Mall on January 5th at 1:30pm. The performance will take place at JC Penney court. If you missed the New Year's Eve demonstration this will be a good opportunity to see all 21 of these martial artists show the skills they have worked hard to perfect.

Saturday Practice will be Open to Serious Sparrers
Mr. Rosbarsky will instruct a high level sparring class for athletes who will be competing in high level tournaments this spring with the ultimate goal being the National tournaments this July. The National tournaments are for Yellow Belts and up and 6 year-olds and up.
Class will be held on Saturdays from 10AM-12PM starting Saturday January 12th. These work-outs will be intense but will be open to any interested student who shows dedication to improvement in the ring as well as dedication to the betterment of their teammates. To join this elite group students must commit to the duration of January-June.
The schedule will include 20 Saturdays starting on January 12th and running till the end of June. This schedule allows for one Saturday off per month for the usual spring time tournaments. The cost for students who are enrolled in a regular program at MTC is $5 per class. If payment is made in advance there will be a $15 discount making the entire session just $85. For students not enrolled at MTC the cost per class will be $15.
Tournament participation is an enriching part of our Martial Art. It is a time to enhance our knowledge and experience, and to create lasting bonds with other martial artists.
We strongly encourage any interested student to try this endeavor. For those who are dedicated to self betterment this is a great challenge that will leave individuals with a great sense of self confidence.
For those who are concerned about expenses associated with the high level tournaments, it is possible to raise a portion to all of the money needed to participate and travel to these tournaments through the booster club. Please plan to join the Monday January 14th meeting to participate in discussion about these events.

Interested in Competition Outside of Montana
The time has come to begin preparations for the spring tournament season and beyond.
The January Booster Club Meeting will be a mandatory meeting for parents, guardians, family members and competitors who have interest in competing at the national competitions this July, or any other tournaments coming up this spring. At this meeting we will form our National Teams and begin to make decisions about tournaments, fundraising and travel.
The meeting is taking place on the 14th at 6pm. All belts and ages are encouraged to come to this meeting. We will discuss National tournaments, the qualifying tournaments, fundraising, workouts and travel as well as address any concerns and questions.
These tournaments are a great opportunity for any interested martial artist to participate in one of the worlds largest sporting events as well as an opportunity to expand experiences and knowledge that most individuals outside of our martial art do not have. This is not just an opportunity for those who believe they are superstars in Taekwondo but it really is for anyone who is willing to dedicate themselves to accomplishing their goals and chasing their dreams.
For the second year in a row the USA Taekwondo organization is running Junior Olympics and Senior Nationals at the same time. This will be a great opportunity for our families as well as individuals to experience a high level of Taekwondo competition.
Please plan to attend the meeting or call Mrs. Rosbarsky (email)to let us know of your interest in upcoming competitions and for further information if you can not make it.
