The Bus is On

For the 3rd year in a row the MTC Booster Club (Thank you Kim Sturre) has organized a Beachliner to take MTC students to Kalispell for the Big Sky Martial Arts Tournament.  We recommend this tournament to all our students.

The cost of the bus is $20 per person, $60 per family of up to 5 members and $75 for a family of 6 or more.

This bus trip is a great way to have a shared experience with your MTC family.  We will depart the Mall parking lot at 5:30 AM November 14th and return following competition.

Seats are going very fast so sign up on the front counter ASAP.  Payment due by November 8th.

Spring Tournament Action

Upcoming Dates

  • April 4th--Philipsburg

  • April 18th--Billings

  • April 25th--Livingston

  • May 9th--Great Falls

Spring is already underway with our own FUN Tournament and with the Bozeman AAU Qualifying Tournament. Within the next 5 weeks there are some great tournament opportunities.

First a great small invitational on April 4th in Philipsburg. For those who are not Spring Breaking this will be a fun tournament.

The three tournaments we recommend to all students, but especially beginners are Billings on April 18th, Livingston on April 25th, and Great Falls on May 9th. The Livingston and Great Falls tournaments are great for all level competition and are historically run very well.

We most highly recommend the Livingston Tournament for 3 reasons--it is always very well run; they give trophies for 1st,2nd and 3rd place participants; and reasonable cost($40-$55).

Fruit Sale? And Buses

We will plan some things this Spring based on preliminary interest.

These things include the Annual Fruit Sale which happens in April. Orders will be taken in early April and Fruit arrives about the last week of April.

We also would like to plan some bus transportation to some of the upcoming Spring Tournaments.

We will make arrangements for both of these things based on the "Interested In . . ." sheet on the front counter at the dojang.

So if you have interest in either of these things please take a moment to let us know. Thank you!!

New and Renewed Events in the New Year

Over the last year, we have been touched and excited to see our TKD family grow together and develop bonds that far surpass simple acquaintanceships. We have a new definition for what we do that includes not only being Martial Arts instructors, but also life mentors, relationship catalysts and in a very meaningful way social directors. We realize that when we creat opportunity for gathering outside of regular class, we are truly building a community of like minded individuals who have bonds that are as string or stronger than many blood related families and we are humbled to see such an amazing group of people who's initial motivation for gathering was to train in Martial Arts at Missoula Taekwondo Center.

To continue to develop these bonds, we will host a number of fun activities in the near future.

First on December 20th we will have the First Annual MTC Paddle Ball Tournament (click here).

On December 28th, we plan to go as a group to the Lady Griz game at 7pm. Further information and sign up are on the front counter.

We will host the 2nd MTC FUN Tournament on January 10th for MTC students only. We will hold competition in 2 rings for the duration of competition cutting the length of the day down considerably. This is a great opportunity for our students (and their parents) to compete and learn in a very friendly environment.

We will host our first ever Girls Night In on January 17th. For MTC girls and their sisters and mothers ONLY. More details to follow.

Back again this Winter is the MTC Ski Day to Discovery planned for January 24th.

Also this winter and spring we plan to arrange more bus travel to tournaments and other events. Please plan to join us at the Booster Club Meetings to have a say in the planning.
