We love that our Taekwondo school facilitates many positive interactions on and off the mat. We love to see parents supporting their own children and growing to know and love the other children and their family members who inhabit the benches around them. And we love that families bring their other children to the dojang to partake of the atmosphere.

A Friendly Reminder-Focus on the Martial Artists on the Mat

Summertime Reminders
We would like to remind our students of a few things as the weather changes.
We implore all of our students to wear shoes to and from the dojang. Aside from the obvious reasons of protecting the feet wearing shoes also protects the mat from a horrible film. For when we wear no shoes outside then walk directly on to the mat it is as if walking on the mat while wearing your shoes.
Also, as a reminder, every student at MTC wears a similar or identical dobok and gear and when a whirl of dressing and undressing happens in the changing room often items don't match up with their proper owners. To help minimize mistaken and misplaced items please put identifying markings of all pieces of dobok, gear and the inside of the belt. Thanks for your help in minimizing the confusion that sometimes happens.

Announcement to All who Visit MTC Each Week
Each week those who do Taekwondo at Missoula Taekwondo Center come together to enjoy classes taught at 2305 Grant St in Missoula. When students come they also often bring with them parents, siblings, grandparents and many other supporters. We would be neglecting a great many people if we addressed only our students as part of our family.
We enjoy having such a large extended family. Having such a great group of supporters for each of our students will help ensure that they are successful in the pursuit of being a better person through martial arts.
We offer areas for spectators and for young siblings to utilize during class time and we encourage everyone to use them. We would like the focus though while in the dojang to remain on the fact that classes are being taught continuously and are affected by the noise and activity level off the mat.
We ask that all people while in the dojang allow the individuals receiving instruction to do so without unnecessary distractions like excessive noise. We are also happy to have the space for smaller children to play in the “Castle Room” and would like it to remain an inviting spot for any child who wishes to use it. For this we would like to ask all parents of children who use this or other areas in the dojang to leave them as clean or cleaner than when they arrived. We realize many individuals utilize these spaces and would like to ask every one to just take the moments before leaving to make sure any areas used are tidied up. Also the front dojang is increasingly used for classes and Poomse practice. We would like the primary focus in this room to be Taekwondo , whether it is a class or just individuals practicing, please allow individuals in this and all areas the ability to practice without excessive distractions.

Important Dojang Announcements
We are so excited to open our new doors to all of our students and families. We continued our expansion during January and opened a secondary gym space in the front of the Dojang. We will utilize this space in many ways including the new "Golden Ultras" class beginning February 11th, for private lessons, and for our New Bow Flex and the additional Cardio equipment to come. We will utilize this space mostly by splitting off small groups from larger classes. This will allow us to continue giving personal attention to each of our students. When this space is not in use we encourage our students to utilize it for practice of their techniques. We ask that parents monitor their children and ensure that rough play is not happening in the dojang.

We would like to share with you a short list of Dojang etiquette that should be observed at MTC.
