FUN Tournament on February 6th

Ease into the Tournament Season with the MTC FUN Tournament right here in our Dojang. ** Only for MTC and STC Students **

The Goal of the FUN Tournament:  Giving a great competition experience to all of our students while teaching everyone, students and parents, about the inner workings of a Taekwondo Tournament.

The FUN Tournament has been a great success.  It is a low stress way to experience TKD competition for the first time or to reengage after a break.  We encourage all of our students to participate not only to learn about TKD competition but also to experience the enhanced offerings Taekwondo has when you step into the TKD world outside of Missoula Taekwondo Center.

We will run 2 rings and enjoy a staggered start.  Meaning all white thru Senior yellow belts will report at 9:45 and all Green thru Black Belts will report for competition at 11:45.

All Red and Black Belts (and Booster Club Volunteers) should report at 9:30 to ensure a smooth day.

The Booster Club will also offer full concessions throughout the day which should keep everyone fully charged and ready to engage in all the activities.

Registration is just $25 and ALL MTC students are encouraged to participate.

Taekwondo competition is fun, challenging and rewarding and it is a gift that you may only experience if you first take the step to join in.  This tournament is designed to give all MTC students a gentle introduction into competing for the first time or an introduction to the 2010 tournament season.  We also will utilize this event to teach all parents and other spectators the rules of competition in TKD as well as what to do to ensure a positive experience for all.

Forms will be available at the dojang and at www.missoulatkd.com soon.

Please plan to attend and engage in friendly competition with your fellow MTC students.

Slides and Slices

Thanks to Mrs. Kim Sawyer, MTC will be enjoying Slides an Slices at the Wingate in Missoula.

The Wingate is at 5252 Airway Blvd (click here for map).   All MTC families can join us on Sunday January 9th from 4-8pm for $5 per person.  The $5 includes pizza and slides and the proceeds will go directly to the Booster Club.  (The Booster Club organizes and supports events which enhance our TKD family's experience in TKD and life, including: fun events like the Talent Show and other life enriching experiences like competition around the state and the nation. )

Want to Take your TKD to a New Level?

An inherent aspect of Taekwondo is to push ourselves to do more than your average Joe, and we also recognize that those who get the most out of their experience in TKD (and life) put the most in to it.  Preparing for tournaments will take the advantages of Taekwondo to a new level.

Taekwondo offers us an exciting opportunity to compete at the national level just by showing up, but "showing up" has to start now.

There will be a meeting for anyone (parents, guardians, family members and students) who have any interest in competing at the national competitions this summer, AND any other tournaments coming up this spring.  The meeting is Wednesday January 13th at 6PM.  All belts and ages are encouraged.  We will discuss the tournaments, the qualifying tournaments, fundraising, workouts and travel as well as address any concerns and questions.

These tournaments are a great opportunity for any interested martial artist to participate in one of the worlds largest sporting events.  This is not just an opportunity for those who believe they are superstars in Taekwondo but it really is for anyone who is willing to dedicate themselves to accomplishing a goal.  Ages 6 and up Yellow through black belts are welcome.

USA Taekwondo will host these National events for 2010 in Orlando, FL June 29-July4.

Please plan to attend the meeting or call Mrs. Rosbarsky to let her know you are interested.
